Job description:
In order to expand the team for an existing project, Pentalog is looking for 2 Java/J2EE Senior Developers. Expertise in Java/J2EE technologies is mandatory and experience with client projects in eCommerce field is an advantage.
The client is a European leader in selling tourism products online (vacations, cruises, hotels, plane tickets, etc). The Pentalog team is in charge of the design and the maintenance of those sites which have over 70 million views and 5 million unique visitors per month. The team for this project is currenty formed by 13 people: one project manager, 2 Java architect , 7 developers, a business intelligence specialist, a tester and a webmaster.
Collaborating with this client is open-end, in dedicated team working on many different projects with the average duration of 2-3 months.
Some of the technologies used: Java, J2EE, Web Services, MySQL, UML, Spring, SpringMVC, Hibernate, Tomcat, JUnit, Xfire, Talend. The architecture of the applications is SOA.
Project organization is based on a mix of agile and classic practices in a controlled environment:
- Requirements are divided into iterations
- The development process is MDA, using code generation tools
- Continuous integration and process automation
- Monitoring the technical quality of deliverables in real time
- Continuos testing at all levels (unit testing, integration tests, automatic non-regression testing, functional testing)
The successful factors of the project are responsiveness, technical and functional quality, estimations compliance and ability to adapt to customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with the project manager and the technical architect, you will help to define and implement the technical components of the future applications, depending on the technical and functional requirements received.
- Compliance with time estimates and deadlines,
- Evolutionary and corrective maintenance of existing applications,
- Writing technical documentation,
- Ensure communication with the client.

Requirements:
- Minimum five years of experience in Java/J2EE programming;
- Medium-advanced level in Web 2.0 programming (JavaScript, HTML, Ajax libraries);
- Good knowledge of J2EE architecture and design patterns;
- Solid practical experience in projects Spring / Hibernate / Xfire;
- Graduate or student at an IT university;
- English – mandatory;
- French is an advantage;
- Very good communication skills, flexibility and mobility;
- Autonomy, initiative, the culture of the commitment and outcome;
- Passion for technical challenges and solving problems.
