Job description :
Pentalog is announcing in June 2008 the launch in Romania of a big project in the field of solutions development for the industry of mobile communications.
It was for the first time when one of the first 3 producers of semiconductor devices in the world had chosen to outsource its development activity in Romania.
Based on solid experience in the field of telecom, ST-Ericsson relied on the creativity of engineers from the Pentalog team to improve its solutions at all functioning levels of mobile devices: from higher-level of communication protocols to the physical level of data transmission.

Following the success of the project of Customer Support for 2G solutions, ST-Ericsson is continuing the partnership started with Pentalog Technology, through our team involvement on 3G projects.
Thus, for the composition of a team of 20 people, we are looking for telecom engineers with experience in 3G which can occur at the following levels: Hardware Interface, Layer 1, Protocols, Audio, Integration System and Telecom.
Trainings will be provided, both directly at the ST-Ericsson Headquarters in France and Pentalog agencies in Bucharest and Sibiu. By integrating these new projects of high technological level, Pentalog is continuing the development of R&D Center of Excellence.
Requirements :
- Graduate of one of the faculties: Electronic and telecommunications, Automatic, Computer Science
- Programming languages: Embedded C, C, Assembler
- Knowledge of architecture of communications systems: GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS architecture
- Good knowledge of microprocessors architecture: organization and operating mode, interfacing, interruptions system, pipelining
- Experience with real-time operating systems
- English mandatory, French is a plus
- At least 3 years experience in the telecom field
Activities :
- Corrective maintenance of 3G solutions
- Implementations of new 3G features
- Improvement of 3G solutions
- Answer at customer questions about the evolution of solutions
- Provides customer support for the integration of developed solutions
- Provides training for the transfer of competencies to other development platforms of the client (abroad)
