Job description:
For the 3G embedded systems project that was launched this year, Pentalog has already gathered some of the best specialists in this field of wireless technologies, who are now involved in 3 different areas of the project:
- Audio Software
- Physical Layer
- Telecom Integration.
Along with its well-known partner, the important worldwide mobile player ST-Ericsson, the Pentalog team has set an ambitious objective: to offer our customers the greatest possible leverage for their software investments and to reduce their IT infrastructure costs.
The 3G Project is an extension of our 2G Project that has been successfully running for over 2 years now. For this reason, Pentalog is looking for the best experts in the GSM technical field, to complete our team in Sibiu.

2 Telecom 3G Technical Experts
Responsibilities:
Being part of our team in any of these roles you will be involved in the following activities:
- Lead the implementation of new customer requirements/functionalities;
- Manage priorities and task distribution inside the team;
- Manage the interface with the customer;
- On site support on customer’s premises in case of emergency situation.
General technical Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in programming languages such as: Embedded C, C, Assembler;
- Knowledge in communication systems architecture: protocoles GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS.
- Strong microprocessors architecture knowledge: different operating modes, interrupt handling, peripherals, registers handling;
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems;
- Clear-case versioning system knowledge is an advantage;
- Minimum of 5 years technical experience;
- English is a must, French is an advantage;
- Good communication skills are required.
Specific technical Requirements:
Aside these above mentioned criterias, you should master at least one of the specific areas below, with absolute necessary exposure and knowledge in the other 2 areas, in a previous relevant 3G project:
Physical Layer
- Good knowledge and experience working with cell phone technology (GSM/UMTS, WCDMA, HSDPA or other similar technology)
- Strong knowledge and experience in the Layer 1 part of the UMTS/GSM protocol stack (or other similar technology).
- GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS 3GPP standard knowledge
- Get a working experience on Mobile phones and system platforms (GSM, EDGE, WCDMA…)
Telecom Integration
- Knowledge in communication systems architecture: protocoles GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS.
- Good knowledge of UMTS Signaling:
- UMTS Protocols architecture: Access stratum/ Non-acces Stratum; ControlPlane / UserPlane
- Logical/Transparent/Physical Channels
- HSDPA specific channels
- UU Interface Protocols: RRC / RLC; Control messages; Signaling procedures.
- Measurements and Mobility
